Tasting Notes
Details
Intense and deep, our Moulin-a-Vent ? Rochegres ? robe shines with ruby red nuances and purple reflections. Floral and full-flavoured, this beautiful wine exhales notes of rose and black wild berries with an expressive mineral backdrop. The mouth is generous, with an aromatic structure that is both complex and harmonious. The finish is intense and subtly flavoured.

Details
Beaune merchant Albert Bichot has added this Domaine to its estate. The wine is rich, structured and with a firm underlay of tannins. It has a polished, ripe character, black-cherry fruits and a structure that will allow it to age. Drink from 2018.

Sitting astride the Saone-et-Loire and the Rhone, the Moulin-a-vent (”windmill”) vineyards are considered the most ”Burgundian” of the Beaujolais wines due to its ageing potential. Located in the northern part of Beaujolais planted on the Chenas and Romaneche-Thorins hillsides, our wine is produced from the ”Clos des Rochegres”, one of the most prestigious terroirs of the appellation. The vines here are mainly old Gamay. Planted in the heart of the ”clos de Rochegres”, the vines take root in poor granite soils with numerous sandstone outcrops. The hard granite and quartz bedrock force the vine’s roots to seek out the minerals it needs much further down. The vineyard plot is situated at an average altitude of between 300 and 400 metres (980 ft - 1,300 ft).
